Whoever said “Nobody is perfect” was a very wise man indeed. It seems as if nobody is truly satisfied with his or her appearance. If one is trying to shed a few kilos, another is trying desperately to improve his health. Whatever miracle cure they need, they want it to be fast, easy and effective. If it involves popping a few pills, drinking up strange concoctions or at the most, a short diet, it works. Any thing tougher than that is really not worth the trouble, is it?

The latest fad in this league is the supposedly miraculous three-day diet. According to this diet, if you were to consume only saltine crackers, toast, eggs, tuna, coffee, tea, apples, and cheese for three consecutive days, it would bring down your weighing scale by ten pounds in three days!
Any skepticism you might have about the three day diet is completely justified. It is highly improbable that any kind of diet could make you lose ten enormous pounds in just three days. Even if you do lose some weight, it is probably because of the small portions of that food that you consume during the three day diet, and in any case, most of it is bound to be “water weight”. When you lose “water weight” your body is not losing any substantial body mass or fat, but instead the water content that keeps your body healthy is being flushed out. Not only is losing water weight unhealthy, it is also absolutely useless because it only dehydrates the body and any lost weight will come back as soon as your three day diet ends.
When it comes to losing weight, nothing can beat the traditional method although many think a medifast plan is coming close. Dieting or mysterious weight reduction pills may sound appealing as they promise results in the short term, while the good old “exercise and eat healthy” plan seems to take forever, but if you wish to bid goodbye to those extra pounds forever, some patience and pain will definitely pay off. The traditional way bids you to exercise regularly, eat lots of green leafy vegetables and fruits, cut out processed and fatty foods, and to not snack between meals. It also tells you to abstain from high carbohydrate food which only fills you up with calories. Of course, on the downside, it does not promise immediate results that something like the three day diet can bring. However, in a couple of months, you will not only be slimmer and better toned, but also happier and feeling healthier.
For those who thought that nothing could be crazier than the idea of a three day diet, you haven’t seen anything yet. While the three day diet seemed senseless due to its high and mighty promises, the Atkins diet may very well kill you! It suggests that you eat nothing but lots of protein, which starts to accumulate in your liver and slowly poisons it. Nevertheless, the weight just shoots right off your body in an Atkins diet. Unfortunately, it also tends to return at the same speed as soon as you get off this diet.
Even if one does get on a three day diet plan, supplementing it with proper exercise is extremely important. Swimming is one of the best exercises as it hardly has any side-effects and exercises the complete body. Jogging and bike riding are other alternatives. Even if losing weight is not a priority with you, exercising a little everyday will leave you refreshed and feeling healthier.

I found that losing weight is not that hard as anyone would think. It sure takes commitment and following a simple plan but the key element is persistance.
You need to monitor the calories, lose the junk food, sodas, sweets and do some physical exercises. I myself love dancing. And remember to use a fat burner to accelerate the fat metabolism.
