Yeast infections are more common than what we believe. It is medically termed as andida fungus. These come with annoying symptoms like burning, itching, soreness, swelling and pain along with reddish rashes on the area infected. Yeasts are normally classified according to the areas affected as follows:
· Facial yeast infections
· Underarm yeast infections
· Between-the-toes infections
· Male groin yeast infections
· Vaginal yeast infections
Then there is systematic yeast infection wherein there are high levels of the yeast albicans (candida). Yeasts affecting a person’s mouth are quite painful as it clashes with the most common daily activity – eating, and so is the yeast affecting the groin areas for both men and women. Starting from burning sensation during urination, yeasts can get nasty and even generate foul smelling discharges. Yeast infections during menstrual periods and diabetes can be really irritating and painful.
When it comes to the segment of yeast infection treatment, there are a variety of treatments ranging from domestic treatments, oral treatments along with application (lotion, gels and creams) based solutions. Domestic solutions at times are quite effective and the best part is that these are easily available. Garlic and plain yogurt (applying on the infected area) are known to be quite anti yeast hence often suggested by friends and family for such infections.
Same holds true for tea tree oil and application of honey on the affected area. There are many other types of infections which have similar set of symptoms like yeasts, so if you aren’t very sure, then the best way out is to visit your family physician who might prescribe some oral or application based yeast infection treatment which are generally more effective than home based remedies.
